The sour taste of lemon peel is one of the main reasons many people choose to simply throw the peel away.

On the other hand, more and more people are choosing to keep the peel, because they have found that it is the main source of nutrients in relation to this fruit.

From the peel you can obtain essential citronella oil, phellandrene, vitamin C and natural fibers such as pectin. In addition, lemon peel contains natural acids, such as:

  • citric acid
  • malic acid
  • formic acid

The volatile acids contained in lemon peel have an anti-inflammatory and relaxing effect that contributes to the reduction of joint pain.

Together with the vitamin A and C content, this ensures that lemon peel is able to control arthritis and reduce the chance of premature wear and tear on the joints.

What is also special about the lemon peel is the amount of calcium, potassium and iron it contains, three minerals that can strengthen the bones, muscles and joints.
