The Unknown Benefits Of Grape Seeds

Chew grape seeds thoroughly to make them easier to digest. You can soak them in water for 24 hours to activate their properties so they take effect faster when you eat them.
The unknown benefits of grape seeds

When we eat grapes, we often remove the grape seeds and stem. However, this part of the fruit is just as nutritious as the grape itself. The seeds may be small, but they have many medicinal properties.

Read this article to find out about the lesser-known benefits of grape seeds.

Why shouldn’t you get rid of grape seeds?

Grape seeds are arguably one of the most medicinal foods out there.

Some of the properties these little seeds seem to have are the following (and more will be discovered with new research):

  • a great source of antioxidants
  • protect the body against free radicals
  • help prevent premature aging of tissues, organs and cells
  • keep the body young
  • help prevent age spots and wrinkles
  • improve blood circulation
  • protect the body from pollution, tobacco and other substances that can cause disease
  • purify the blood from the effects of drugs and excessive alcohol consumption
  • make the vein and artery walls stronger (thanks to the flavonoid content)
  • improve cardiovascular health
  • have anti-inflammatory properties
  • cleanse the intestines
  • ensure that the eyes, skin and brain remain in optimal condition
  • prevent degenerative diseases
  • prevent the formation of plaque in the arteries
  • prevent hair loss and promote new hair growth
  • keep connective tissue young and healthy
  • slow the development of cataracts and glaucoma
  • make the lungs stronger and prevent respiratory diseases
  • strengthen the body’s defense mechanisms and the immune system

How do you eat grape seeds?

This question may seem somewhat irrelevant, because of course you can eat grapes without removing the seeds. However, this is not the only way to take grape seeds and reap the benefits they provide.

For example, you can also buy grape seed extract and capsules at drug stores or health food stores.

If you choose to eat the whole grape, remember to wash the grapes well to remove soil and fertilizer. Of course it is best to eat organic grapes.

You can also remove the seeds from the grapes, then wash and dry them so that you can add them to smoothies or shakes and juices, whole or processed.

Some people choose to soak the seeds in water for 24 hours to activate the beneficial properties.

Do not forget to chew the seeds well, because they are difficult to digest. The recommended daily amount is 300 mg (if you take capsules).

There are no side effects. Grapes are the perfect snack for when you or your kids are craving something sweet. You will therefore have less need for other sweets and at the same time benefit from all the benefits that grapes have to offer.

The grape (seed) diet

Because grapes provide so many benefits for weight loss and fat loss, people choose to add the fruit to their daily diet or a temporary detox regimen (another of the properties we highlighted).

All you have to do is buy a kilo of red grapes (there are different varieties) and pick a day of the week when you want to start your detox and weight loss diet.

You only have to stick to the diet for 24 hours and you can’t do this too often. You will have to wait two months each time before repeating the diet.

  • Take two tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil on an empty stomach.
  • Add a few drops of lemon juice to a cup of warm water and drink it on an empty stomach.
  • After taking the olive oil and drinking the lemon water, wait ten minutes before eating your first cup of grapes.
  • After two hours you eat another cup of grapes. Don’t forget to drink plenty of water in between.
  • At lunchtime (two hours after your last cup of grapes), you can eat a plate of steamed vegetables and a handful of whole grain rice.
  • Eat a cup of grapes every two hours until dinner.
  • Your dinner should then consist of a bowl of vegetable soup, a piece of grilled fish and a fresh salad with olive oil and lemon juice.
  • Two hours before bedtime, eat another cup of grapes.

Some recommendations

  • Remember that it is better not to eat grapes with other foods. Chew the seeds well and break them with your teeth.
  • Wait twenty minutes after eating grapes so they can be digested properly. If you don’t, the sugar in the grapes will ferment in the stomach, causing you to experience discomfort, such as gas or indigestion.
  • In principle, you can combine grapes with other types of fruit, but this is not recommended either. You will then not be able to fully benefit from the benefits that both fruits offer.
Eating grape seeds is healthy

Don’t hesitate to try this fantastic diet that allows you to eliminate fat and remove excess fluid.

However, do not forget to take full advantage of the benefits that the nutritious and medicinal grape seeds have to offer.
